Drawing from a wide array of musical backgrounds and influences, The Recipe has become well known as one of the most original bands on the roots-rock/jamband scene. Roaring out of Morgantown, WV in 1995 with their debut cd "Love Marble Hoe Down", the band made their name known throughout the country as they developed a strong following due to their high-energy live shows and a heavy touring schedule. In the following years they became a fixture on the national club and festival scene. The band continued to stay busy, releasing "Night of The Porch People" in 1998, followed up in 2000 with "Geode", "All You Can Eat"(the first live CD) in 2003, and "Jubilee" in 2006. Throughout the years, the bands strong foundation has been maintained by Joe Prichard, carrying on The Recipe sound with amazing musicians,providing fans across the country with countless unforgettable live shows, and sharing the stage with artists such as String Cheese Incident, Moe, Les Claypool, Govt. Mule, The Derek Trucks Band, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Sam Bush, Donna The Buffalo and countless others. In 1999 the first annual Recipe Family Cookout was held in Terra Alta, WV and has continued to this day as a festival that is part festival and part family reunion, featuring three days of music, camping, football, and a food drive for local charities. This festival has featured such artists as Leftover Salmon, Keller Williams, John Cowan, Peter Rowan and Tony Rice resulting in unforgettable on stage colaborations. With the band's new website www.therecipefamily.com receiving thousands of hits a month worldwide, their five cd's finishing in the year-end top selling list on the well respected Homegrown Music Network annually, and the band's fifth CD "Jubilee" released to rave reviews and debuting at #12 on the Homegrown Charts, the best is still to come for The Recipe.
THE RECIPE TO PLAY LAST WEST VIRGINIA GIG EVER! at The Mountain Music and Jam Festival Pennsboro,WV
Out of Morgantown,WV in 1995 “The Recipe” released their debut album “Love Marble Hoe Down” as a result the band became known throughout the country. The band Developed a strong following due to their high energy shows and heavy tour schedule.
“The Recipe” founded by Joe Prichard went on to become one of the premier Roots Rock bands in America sharing stages with greats such as Moe,String Cheese Incident,Govt. Mule, Sam Bush, Rusted Root and many others. Joe Prichard has come to a point after 15 plus years that it is time to have the last West Virginia show before ending the legacy of “ The Recipe .” The last West Virginia Recipe show will take place at the beautifull Pennsboro Motor Speedway in Pennsboro,WV on Saturday August 4 th 2007. The event is The Mountain Music and Jam Festival. “The Recipe” is scheduled to HEADLINE 10:30 pm-12:30 am on the main stage. Other acts to perform that evening would be Jenn Wertz (Rusted Root) and The Clarks from Pittsburgh. So porch people and Recipe fans come out for the last ever West Virginia Recipe show and make Joe and his band feel the love from throughout the years.
